ClipItCoach (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the clipitcoach.co.nz website and the ClipItCoach mobile application (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Service.

When you create an account we collect:

  • A password (stored securely using one-way hashing)

1.2 Content You Provide

When you use the Service we store:

  • Videos you upload or YouTube links you add
  • Clips, categories, and coaching notes you create
  • Team information and membership details

1.3 Payment Information

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe (web) and Google Play (Android). We do not store your credit card number or payment method details on our servers. We receive a subscription identifier and billing status from the payment provider.

1.4 Automatically Collected Information

When you access the Service we may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type, operating system, and device information
  • Pages visited and features used

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process your subscription and manage your account
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. password resets, team invitations)
  • Respond to support requests you submit via our contact form
  • Monitor usage to detect abuse or technical issues

We will never sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your information in these limited circumstances:

  • With your team: Clips, categories, and coaching notes you create within a team are visible to other members of that team.
  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform, including Stripe (payments), Bunny.net (video hosting and delivery), and email providers. These providers only receive the data necessary to perform their function.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Videos uploaded to the Service are hosted by Bunny.net’s global content delivery network. We use HTTPS for all data in transit and encrypt sensitive data at rest.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information and content within a reasonable timeframe. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

The Service uses a local storage token to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. YouTube’s embedded player may set its own cookies when you view a YouTube-linked video.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites (e.g. YouTube). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
